Restylane®

Restylane® is an injectable dermal filler containing hyaluronic acid, which is a natural substance that exists in the human body. This clear gel, known as Non-Animal Stabilized Hyaluronic Acid (“NASHA™”), is biocompatible with human hyaluronic acid. Restylane® is used to restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct facial wrinkles and folds.

The advantage of Restylane® is that it maintains its shape by using the body’s own natural moisture. As the hyaluronic acid slowly degrades, the molecules bind to water. Over time, the same volume can be maintained with a lesser amount of hyaluronic acid. The fact that the hyaluronic acid binds to water, helps the results last longer.

Restylane® is free from animal proteins, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions to animal proteins. Temporary side effects include minor redness or swelling, which should disappear in a day or so.

Captique

Captique™ is a clear injectable dermal filler, which contains a purified form of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is found in the human body in the skin, cartilage, joints and the eye. Hyaluronic acid in skin delivers nutrients, hydrates the skin by holding in water, and acts as a cushioning agent.

Captique™ gel is injected under the skin to add volume lost during the aging process by temporarily smoothing out facial lines, folds and wrinkles. Treatment results are immediate. Over time, the gel will gradually break down and be naturally absorbed by the body.

After the initial treatment, an additional treatment of Captique™ get may be necessary to achieve the desired level of correction. Periodic follow up treatments are necessary to maintain results, as the gel gradually is reabsorbed into the body.

Artefill Artecoll

ArteFill® is a permanent dermal filler made up of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) microspheres (miniature beads), suspended in collagen. PMMA has been used as bone cement by orthopedic surgeons in medical implants.

The advantage of ArteFill over other dermal fillers is that the results last much longer. When injected into the treatment site, the microspheres also stimulate the body to produce its own collagen. The patient’s natural collagen replaces the injected collagen as it slowly degrades and is absorbed into the body. This is what produces the lasting results.

CosmoDerm / CosmoPlast

CosmoDerm® and CosmoPlast® are dermal fillers made from highly purified human collagen, which is a natural protein that supports the skin and injected just below the skin’s surface. CosmoDerm® is used for fine lines and minor defects while CosmoPlast® is used in the treatment of deeper lines and furrows and more serious imperfections. These dermal fillers are used to smooth wrinkles and acne scars, fill in deep furrows and folds, and add definition to the lip border.

The treatment is a simple procedure with a quick recovery time. The injections are relatively painless – CosmoDerm® and CosmoPlast® contain an anesthetic called lidocaine, which helps to temporarily numb the treatment area. And to minimize discomfort, a topical or local anesthetic can be also applied to the area prior to treatment. There may be some temporary swelling and redness in the injection site, which should subside within an hour. To maintain results, touch-up injections are usually needed two or three times a year, since the injected collagen is gradually absorbed by the body.
